667 | South-Western News (Busselton, WA : 1903 - 1954), Friday 22 March 1918, page 3 Mrs. T. Donohoe. Profound sorrow spread throughout the Kellerberrin district, says the Eastern Recorder, on Sunday when the sad news became known that Mrs. Donohoe, wife of Mr. T. Donohoe, postmaster, had passed away under painfully sudden circumstances, shortly after 1 o'clock that afternoon. The deceased lady had not been in good for some weeks past, but nothing very serious was thought to be the matter and so well did she appear during the previous week that on Wednesday Mrs. Pressice (sister), who had been looking after her, left for home. Shortly after having partaken dinner on Sunday, however, Mrs. Donohoe complained of feeling unwell and expired peacefully a few hours afterwards the cause of death being heart failure. To enable relatives to be present, the funeral did not take place until Tuesday. The remains were removed on Monday afternoon to the Catholic Church, where a prayer service for the dead was held. At 10 o'clock the following morning the funeral moved off from the Church to the Catholic portion of the cemetery, where the Rev. Father H. O'Reily conducted an impressive burial service. The chief mourners were Mr. Donohoe (husband), Miss Eileen Donohoe and two other infant daughters. Masters Hugh and Eric Donohoe (sons), Mrs. Irene Pressdee (sister) and Mr. Pressdee (brotherin-law). The funeral was one of the largest that had taken place in Kellerberrin. Among those present were Mr. Millbank (Inspector of Post and Telegraphs). Mr. F. Wise (postmaster at Merridin) and Mr. Colls (relieving postmaster at Kellerberrin). The late Mrs. Donohoe was only 29 years of age, having been born at Bundaberg (Queensland) in 1889, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rowe. During her residence here she made many friends and was very popular, her bright and kindly nature winning the respect of every one. Much sympathy will felt for Mr. Donohoe and family, who, with the late Mrs. Donohoe, resided in Busselton for some time. | ROWE, Olive (I376)

680 | Tabitha married Benjamin WICKHAM (b:11.11.1792) in 1815 in Wells, Somerset, England. They had a family in England and then immigrated to Australia between 1830-1837. John Jennings [J_JENNINGS@onaustralia.com.au] says: The records for the "Africaine" only list two of Benjamin & Tabitha WICKHAM's children, Eliza and Daniel. Tabitha is not actually listed on the passenger list of the "Africaine". Neither are their daughters Sarah Clifford (married William Joseph SAYERS in Tasmania in 1836), Maria or young Lucy mentioned. As well, Tabitha's illegitimate daughter Mary BAILEY (nee PRANGLEY) was already in Tasmania (1833-1838) and two of her children were born there before she came to South Australia. It seems very likely that Tabitha and her daughters Maria and Lucy first went to Tasmania. The first Wesleyan Methodist service on the mainland of South Australia was held in a tent near the Old Gum Tree at Glenelg South Australia on 22 Jan 1837. It was conducted by John C. White. On 11 May 1837, fifteen people met at the home of Edward Stephens near the site of the present Festival Theatre in Adelaide and decided to establisha Wesleyan Methodist Society. Tabitha Wickham was one of those present. Tabitha was also the first nurse in South Australia. Early in 1837, an infirmary was set up on North Terrace near Morphett St. Tabitha undertook to care for the inmates, and to cook, for ten shillings a week plus rations. Later she was the first nurse at the Royal Adelaide Hospital | PRANGLEY, Tabitha (I223)
